CitizenShipper & Vetster Driver Program
At CitizenShipper, we continually explore ways to support the shippers and transporters who use our site. All CitizenShipper drivers delivering a pet shipment are eligible for Vetster veterinary support during pet shipments—for both the transporter and the shipping customer. This program offers an additional resource to help drivers provide quality service.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Vetster?
Vetster is an on-call, 24/7 veterinary video consultation service. The platform provides professional advice, treatment recommendations, and referrals to a nearby animal clinic from a licensed veterinarian.
How can Vetster help me?
Vetster offers prompt access to licensed veterinarians through its mobile app. Their network of experienced professionals assesses and advises on a range of pet health issues remotely. In many instances, these virtual consultations are sufficient to manage minor concerns without requiring an in-person visit. When a physical examination is necessary, the veterinarian can refer users to a nearby emergency animal clinic. This service is designed to address pet health needs quickly and may help alleviate travel-related stress for both pets and their owners.
Which conditions can Vetster help diagnose?
Visible Skin Conditions:
- Rashes, irritation, or signs of allergies (e.g., redness or inflammation) visible on the skin.
- Bumps, lumps, or wounds that may be concerning.
Ear and Eye Issues:
- Signs of ear infections (discharge, redness, or inflammation in the ear).
- Eye irritations or infections with visible redness, swelling, or discharge.
Respiratory Symptoms:
- Coughing or sneezing episodes observable over video.
- Labored or abnormal breathing patterns that can be evaluated remotely.
Behavioral Changes:
- Lethargy, unusual behavior, or changes in activity levels noted by pet owners.
- Signs of discomfort or pain, such as reluctance to move or changes in posture, which may be evident during a video consultation.
Gastrointestinal Disturbances:
- Episodes of vomiting or diarrhea, along with discussions regarding frequency and appearance, which can help determine if further action is needed.
Please Note:
A video call enables the veterinarian to observe many visible signs and discuss pet’s symptoms in detail. However, some conditions may require a hands-on examination or additional testing for a definitive diagnosis. Vetster’s veterinarians can offer initial guidance, help assess the urgency of symptoms, and advise whether an in-person visit is necessary.
