Pet Shipping Booking Fees

At CitizenShipper, our goal is to keep expenses affordable and shipping services accessible to all.

To start with, you can list your dog's transportation requirements free of charge - there's no listing fee to connect with drivers, receive their quotes, and negotiate the details.

Once you accept a quote from a driver, CitizenShipper adds a modest Booking Fee on top of that.

This fee scales with the mileage of the pet transportation job, as follows:

Just remember, the fee does not come out of the driver's quote. It's a separate expense, calculated for you automatically as soon as you click "Book Driver”. You'll be able to review the breakdown of your expenses before making the final decision.

Example of Pet Shipping Booking Fees

Let's say you need to transport your dog from San Diego, CA to Houston, TX, the total mileage for this shipment is 1471 miles. Looking at the table above, we see that this shipment is in the 1,251-1,500 mileage bin. That means the Booking Fee is $179.99. Your total would be $179.99 plus the driver's fee.

• The Booking Fee is the only required upfront cost — you’ll be charged $179.99 immediately.
• You'll pay the driver as previously agreed upon.

Why Is There a Booking Fee?

You may wonder, “Why does CitizenShipper charge a Booking Fee?”

We use the revenue generated from your Booking Fee to improve our marketplace and ultimately, the customer experience for shippers and drivers. 

Our drivers have the freedom to run their small businesses and be their own bosses — they set their own prices and routes. This is why we never take a cut from the driver’s quoted price.
