CitizenShipper is an online marketplace connecting people who have something to ship with qualified transporters in their area.

If you have an item to transport, list your shipping requirements for free and wait for registered drivers to send you their quotes.

If you are looking for work in transportation, create your driver profile and start bidding on shipments listed on the site.

Acting as a go-between, the CitizenShipper platform matches a customer's shipping requirements with a transporter's ability to satisfy them. We bring people together, building a community of shippers and drivers.

How it works

When customers list their shipments, they instantly access our nationwide network of transporters. We send the shipment listing out to all the transporters able to satisfy the stated requirements.

Once transporters are notified of a shipment, they review it and message the customer who listed it. They quote their price, bidding against each other for the opportunity to do business. 

The shipping customer considers these offers and decides who to book. They go through transporters' profiles, looking at their ratings, reviews, and achievements. Once the choice is made, the best bid is accepted and the booking is made.

It's at this point that CitizenShipper connects the customer with their chosen transporter, exchanging their contact information. Through direct communication, the two sides arrange for the shipment to be picked up, transported, and delivered. Payment is typically made on delivery, though some transporters require a part of it to be made upfront.

CitizenShipper operates based on the twin principles of transparency and accountability - we encourage all shipping customers to rate and review their transporters' performance. These are taken into account going forward, affecting each transporter's odds of being matched to future shipments.
