Typically, when looking for shipments, you'll either be flexible on where you want to go, or you'll have an exact route on mind.
While you can use the CitizenShipper Search tool for both scenarios, the Routes tool is especially useful when you already know where you're going.
Adding your predefined route will enable instant notifications whenever a new shipment is posted along that route. This saves you from a lot of searching – just save the route and let CitizenShipper do the hard work for you.
Routes tool use cases
- Finding extra shipments. If you've already won a shipment, you'll certainly want to find more shipments along the same route. That way you maximize your dollar per mile and make trips more profitable. If you booked the shipment on CitizenShipper, you will already get notifications for new shipments along that route. However, if you booked a shipment elsewhere, don't forget to add the route.
- Visiting family or friends. This is a great chance to cover the expenses for a family trip. Just add the route, and you'll get notified of new shipments anywhere along the route. Not only you'll be able to cover the trip on the way there, but on the way back as well.
- Places you always wanted to see, but never got the chance. People have used CitizenShipper to visit Niagara Falls, Miami Beach, and many other wonderful places in the US. While coordinating multiple trips isn't exactly vacation, you can still deliberately create routes to places you always wished you could visit.
Adding a new route
First, go to the Routes screen.
Then press "Add New" to start creating a new route.
From there, it's pretty straightforward. Just enter From and To cities, an optional name for the route, and press Add Route.
At this point, the route can only be between different cities. Creating State to state routes is not possible.
That's it! From now on, whenever a shipment is posted along the route you saved, you'll be notified.
A note on notification settings
To receive notifications for new shipments posted along your new route, you need to enable the appropriate notification setting. It may already be selected for you, but just to be sure, go to your Notification Settings. You'll see the following line:
Be sure to check either email or SMS, or both notification options.
